Today I thought I would venture out into the White stuff and do a 'Snow Ride'. Unfortunately there had been a bit of rain the night before, and so a lot of the snow on the main roads had been cleared, but believe me when I say that there was enough snow on the off-road sections of my ride.

The Snow Machines :P .............and Me! :D |
We started our ride (Me and my Dad), going down through River and then through Kearsney Abbey, then we rode all the way to the top of 'Scotland Hill', some of you locals may know this hill as a 'Killer' in the dry, with snow this was made 10x harder!
Then we went down a steep, but long descent, down onto the Alkham Valley Road, then it was up another long road climb and along the top of Minnis Lane. We then commenced the long, but very technical descent into Crabble Athletic Ground. This descent is predominantly singletrack, which meant that all the weight of the snow on the trees had caused, in some places, the trees to collapse in on the trail. This meant we found ourselves crawling under trees alot of the time! :P
Overall it was a Very Fun ride and I also think it helped to spend a bit of riding time with my Dad as I normally train in groups and with my coach/club, this takes the Father and Son aspect out of riding (that I was so used to until this cross-season) and I think this ride helped a lot to regain that aspect, of my riding.
Below are the rest of the photos taken on the ride, also below is a FlickR link to the whole set of photos.
